Perspective

  Perspective Perspective is a compositional method that is primarily used to draw the viewers eye through an image. This is done by many of the lines in the image being drawn to a single point called the vanishing point. The use of perspective allows for a feeling of depth and dimension to an otherwise flat image.  Point perspective has been used in Video Games for a long time as it is something that can easily be emulated in a game engine. An example of an early use of point perspective is Pole Position (Namco 1982) where the point perspective is used to emulate an actual race track.   The use of point perspective has been used throughout art history and can be seen in many works. One such example is The Bedroom by Van Gogh (1888).
